Born and brought up in the oil town Digboi, Geetima Baruah Sarma is a freelance writer, presently residing in Shillong, India. She studied English Literature and previously worked as Teacher-in-charge in a school in Shillong. Besides, she loves to play the sitar and has performed in various cultural programmes.

She started writing since 2009 and has three e-books to her credit, namely Embers Rekindled (Novelette), Fly Away & other poems (Poetry) and Thoughts in bloom (Poetry). Her poems and write-ups have been published in the following:
